Our Team

 Peter Sophos, President and Owner

Peter graduated from Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix, Arizona — recognized at the time as the top trade school in the country for heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration — in 1983. An Oxnard native, Peter began his career as an installation and service technician in Ventura before earning his contractor's license and launching Mainstream in 1986.  With nearly four decades of experience in the HVAC industry working with the best custom home builders in Southern California, Peter is well known for completing difficult installations. He knows he has succeeded when a homeowner walks from one end of the home to another without feeling a difference in temperature or noticing that the airflow system is running.

When he's not working, Peter enjoys riding his motorcycle, studying Greek, and attending Calvary Community Church in Westlake Village. Peter resides in Moorpark, California with his wife, Lisa. They have two daughters, Zoe and Olivia.

 Salvador (Chava) Naranjo, Installation Supervisor

Chava has been with Mainstream since day one, working alongside Peter on all aspects of installations. Known for his thoroughness and professionalism, Chava runs the installation process for new homes and remodels, including overseeing procurement of materials, managing the installation, and interfacing with the general contractor and other subcontractors.

Originally from the town of Acuitzeramo in Michoacán, Mexico, Chava's first jobs were as a bus fare collector, a charter bus driver, and a projector operator in his family's movie theater. For many years, Chava worked picking strawberries, lemons, oranges, peppers, and other fruits and vegetables throughout Southern and Central California. He resides in Oxnard, California with his wife, Teresa. They have five children — Salvador, Alejandra, Ruben, Jackie, and Alex — and one grandchild. A longtime youth soccer coach, Chava cheers for FC Barcelona in his free time.
